We Defy

I am Edward Safo, and I'm raising money for the We Defy foundation. Although I've never served in the military, I've always appreciated those who have served and sought out ways to contribute.

I'm grateful to have a chance to work with We Defy. They know that the confidence, discipline, and community that comes from training Jiujitsu can be a life-changing benefit for our brothers and sisters who have served and are now in need of support. We Defy sponsors fitness scholarships for these veterans, giving them a full year of training at a nearby Jiujitsu academy and partnering them with a mentor to guide them off the mats.

Through this active fitness therapy, these veterans gain a sense of accomplishment, purpose and community. I have been personally training Jiujitsu for 6 years and can attest to the difference it has made in my physical and mental well being. We Defy helps bring the same benefits to veterans who are in need.

This Presidents Day Weekend The Renzo Gracie Academy will hold a 2-day seminar to raise donations for the foundation. All donations from the event will go directly to the foundation to produce veteran athletes' scholarships to start them on the new journey.
