The Magic Yarn Project
The Magic Yarn Project creates soft, whimsical yarn wigs for children battling cancer and other medical hair loss. We are a 100% volunteer-powered, 501(c)3 nonprofit funded solely by donations. Since 2015, we've shipped over 50,000 wigs and character beanies to children in all 50 states and over 52 countries, free to the families who receive them.
With over 200,000 children diagnosed with cancer every year worldwide, we hope you will consider helping us continue our mission to create magic in the lives of children battling cancer and to inspire volunteerism to help make a difference.

- Our wigs are 100% handmade by volunteers
- We only use super soft yarns comfortable for even the most sensitive post-chemo scalps
- It costs on average $50 to make and ship one wig anywhere in the world.
- We use over 20,000 skeins of yarn every year
- Every dollar donated is used exclusively to help create and ship our wigs to children and cancer centers across the globe
