I am Theresa Merritt-Watson, Director of Synergy Training Solutions, serving 100 students in New Castle, Delaware this summer.

We are launching our fundraising campaign for the 2025 “Summer of Growth, Grit, and Greatness, Voices of Promise,” an eight-week educational experience running from June 16 to August 5, 2025. This transformative program will serve 100 Help Shape a Brighter Future for Our Youth. This Summer students in New Castle County, Delaware, providing high-quality academic, cultural, and technology based learning opportunities. The total cost of the program is $134,860, or $168.57 per student per week.

Offered through our Pathways to Purpose Learning Initiative and Cultural Enrichment and led by Synergy Training Solutions in partnership with Harvest Community Group, the program provides a rich, engaging learning environment. Students in grades 1–12 will build core academic skills in reading, math, and science; gain hands-on experience in technology, including coding, app development, and computer hardware/software; and deepen their understanding of Black history and identity. Most importantly, students will embark on a personal journey of passion, pursuit, and purpose, gaining the leadership, life skills, and confidence needed to succeed beyond the classroom. Parent education is also offered, empowering families to support long-term learning and growth at home.

Our expected outcomes include reduced summer learning loss, improved confidence in STEM subjects, increased graduation and college aspiration rates, and stronger cultural identity. Through our 3-P’s approach, Passion, Pursuit, and Purpose, students will be empowered to dream boldly, lead confidently, and thrive academically and personally. Families will be better equipped to foster learning at home, and the broader community will benefit from stronger partnerships and deeper awareness of Black contributions to American society.
