Unique to our community, SPIFFS is the only independent multi-ethnic organization of its kind in the United States. It was founded in 1975 by local ethnic groups to present a festival during the U.S. Bicentennial Celebration in 1976, and is among the longest-running International Fairs in the US.
SPIFFS hosts an International Folk Fair in which member groups highlight the culture, ethnic crafts, foods, and entertainment from their respective cultures, and has been recognized by the Library of Congress through its Local Legacies in Washington, D.C.
SPIFFS has a history of providing services to the community like artists, ethnic resource volunteers, visiting schools and other community venues to discuss the heritage of their ethnic group, sharing their music, dance, arts and crafts, and sometimes demonstrating ethnic food specialties.
Currently serving our third generation of Tampa Bay students, residents, and visitors alike, we hope to continue through a fourth generation!!
After several fair cancellations due to COVID, our income stream from the Fair has been interrupted. We need people like you to donate today to help us keep our doors open and the International Fair alive!
