Leptomeningeal Cancer Foundation

This Giving Season, I’m choosing to support a cause that’s deeply personal to me.

Many people don’t know about Leptomeningeal Disease (LMD) a rare and aggressive cancer that affects the lining of the brain and spinal cord.

My mom was diagnosed with this disease in 2023, and I saw firsthand how challenging it is to navigate this disease.

There’s currently no cure, and research and resources are limited.

That’s why this year, I’m donating to the Leptomeningeal Cancer Foundation, an organization working to improve awareness, help families, and support much-needed research.

This weekend I am running the Santa Barbara half marathon to raise awareness for the Leptomeningeal Foundation, a newly developed cancer treatment program dedicated to advancing research and providing support for those affected by this rare and challenging form of cancer.

I am dedicating my run and these fundraising efforts to Joanna and my dear friend, Jay Grossman, who has been battling Stage 4 Metastatic Lung Cancer these past two years and who credits the Leptomeningeal Foundation's groundbreaking work, along with the proactive care and treatment provided by the staff at the Martha's Vineyard Hospital, with his life.

As many of you know, my mother died of Multiple Myeloma, a rare form of blood cancer, so this cause is near and dear to my heart. The Morleys, along with many others, are personally grateful for every extra day, tennis clinic, drive down north road, conversation about CCC merch and morning breath work session that the LMCF's research has made possible for Jay and we want to ensure that the LMCF can continue to do the same for others effected by this disease.
