California's Foster Care
Hi, my name is Caroline and I am an eighth grader at The Hamlin School in San Francisco. I want to make a difference for the thousands of children in the foster care system in California.
At Hamlin, all seventh graders are faced with the challenge of a two-week-long intensive project at the end of the year called Rise to The Challenge (RTC). We were put in groups and picked a topic as a team. My peers and I chose the foster system in California. We spoke with people involved in the system to learn about its history and challenges. We presented our findings and made a brochure. We went our separate ways for summer, but I still felt like we hadn't made enough of a difference!
I decided to launch this GoFundMe to raise money for SF CASA. I've attached our brochure if you want to learn more about the foster care system and some of its history.
