Statement on King Powwow
Overall, this year’s powwow was a beautiful and family-oriented event. The public truly enjoyed it, and it was wonderful to see so many people getting involved and celebrating together. Our vendors had a successful weekend, and the atmosphere was filled with culture, community, and joy.
Unfortunately, the celebration was overshadowed by a deeply disappointing incident — the theft of event funds. These funds, kept in envelopes with individuals’ names on them, were taken without permission. This loss impacts our ability to plan for future
It will be very hard and not possible to host the 10th annual powwow. We want to be transparent about this incident, our event insurance and vehicle insurance does cover this financial loss. Unfortunately if we cannot recuperate these funds, we cannot host 10th annual powwow next year which is not our intentions”.
We appreciate everyone who came out, supported, and helped make the event a success, and we hope our community will come together to ensure that this tradition can continue in the future.
