Palmetto Animal Assisted Life Services

We, Cocky's Canine PAALS, are an organization at the University of South Carolina. We facilitate sending volunteers to help at the PAALS facility every week and also run fundraisers on campus throughout the semester. PAALS is a local non-profit that trains service dogs, specifically for people with mobility issues, autism, and PTSD. As this semester's goal, we will be trying to reach $1,500 so that we can sponsor and name a puppy. The poll for names will be sent out through our club Instagram (@cockyspaals) after we have reached our goal, and anyone following will get the chance to vote! PAALS website

Hi! My name is Sherrie Bourg Carter and I'm a licensed psychologist who has worked with child sexual abuse victims and adult victims of violence for the past 28 years, and I'm thrilled to have been accepted as a client for a PAALS facility dog!

In partnership with Safe Alliance and Pat's Place Child Advocacy Center, both based in Charlotte, North Carolina, I'll work with my assigned dog at these agencies, guiding the dog to perform tasks that will provide comfort and stress relief for victims of sexual and physical assault, giving them a sense of safety and security to help them find their voices during one of the most difficult times in their lives.

I am asking for donations that will go directly to PAALS to help minimally cover the costs of the training services they provide. All donations are tax deductible with a receipt provided to you by PAALS.
