Instead of gifts, I’d love your support for Michigan Humane, an organization dedicated to improving and saving the lives of animals through loving care. I love to see the pictures of the animals being cared for by the Michigan Humane Society, it breaks my heart but makes me feel happy they're getting help. Katelyn Wade is fundraising
Celebrate the Life and Love of Crystal Aherne
Crystal Ann Aherne, born on September 23rd, 1959, passed peacefully at home on November 9, 2024, after a courageous battle with late-discovered cancer. She spent her final days surrounded by loved ones and her final moments with her niece and partner, Katelyn Wade and David Daniel, by her side.

Crystal is survived by her mother, Elfriede Roper; her sister, Donna Wade; her cherished nieces, Jenelle and Katelyn Wade; and her devoted partner, David Daniel. Known for her loyalty, resilience, and compassion, Crystal was a pillar of strength for her family, friends, and colleagues.

For many years, Crystal served with pride as an Aviation Safety Inspector for the Federal Aviation Administration. Crystal lifted those around her, balancing her tenacity with a gentle heart, and was always the person you could count on.

Crystal’s love for animals, her respect for nature, and her delight in quiet moments defined her. She found peace by the ocean and joy in travel and yoga, always closing her evenings with mindfulness and a warm cup of tea.

Crystal’s spirit will be deeply missed, but her legacy of strength, kindness, and warmth lives on in the lives of those who knew and loved her.

In Lieu of flowers for her celebration of life, please feel free to donate to the Michigan Humane Society in her honor, as she would have loved.

Katie's Graduation 2021-Donate to Michigan Humane
As many of you know, for three years during college, I have been fostering kittens through the Michigan Humane Society. I have learned about how much they care for the animals, and how I can play a role in finding them forever homes. I have fostered over 50 kittens/cats to this day. As I graduate from University of Michigan in 2021, I would love to give back to MHS. So, for my graduation this year, I am asking for my friends and family to donate to Michigan Humane Society so that they can continue doing their wonderful work. I truly believe that they provide give animals the advocacy, care, and love that they need. Thank you to all who choose to donate, any amount helps!
