To Make Disciples of Jesus, the Christ, for the transformation of the world. At McKnight UMC, we understand our primary mission as given to us by Jesus Christ in the "Great Commission" as found in Matthew 28:16-20 is to go into the world and make disciples of Jesus Christ so that the world might be transformed. We believe this happens when we as a community in Christ spread the Word of God by reaching out to everyone regardless of race, gender, age, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or socio-economic background in accepting, supporting, and loving ways. Everyone, including those in the church, stands in need of the grace of God and the support of others in order to strengthen their relationship with Jesus Christ in ways that transform their lives into the likeness of Christ. We believe this happens best in communities where making disciples of Jesus Christ through loving service, action, and teaching are abundant.
