Mas Mariposas is fundraising
Running the Paris Marathon to Help La Mariposa
Dear friends and those of you who don't know me yet, I am Will Hodgskiss, a Canadian. I will be running the Paris Marathon this April 13th/2025. I will be running it to raise funds to help La Mariposa, a language school that is a front for fund-raising. Fundraising to help those children in Nicaragua who are handicapped, impoverished, orphaned, abused, and worse. It was founded in 2000 by Paulette Goudge, an English lady, and as far as I am concerned, a saint ! Please read the history below, and see the short video.
Running a Marathon doesn't make sense, and it doesn't come easily to me. For me running 42.2k/26.2 miles is painful actually, it takes many months of training, and it makes me miserable. So if I am going to be miserable I would like to see some good come from it. To this end I ask you to give a little to a children's charity.
One charity I really like is La Mariposa, a Nicaragua-based, USA registered charity, so you get tax relief. ( “Mas Mariposas” is a USA registered 501c3 charity. Tax ID: EIN: 47-3336305 )
As I mentioned, La Mariposa is a language school, and a front for something else. I have studied at the school at La Mariposa, I have seen (and helped a bit) what they do, and how they do it. La Mariposa helps with medicine, medical, food, rehabilitation, therapies, and more. In their own gardens La Mariposa grows much of the food they consume. The money earned from the paying students goes right to the support for the kids. Not a penny is wasted, nothing goes sideways. Anything you give helps here and now, there is no red tape nor bureaucracy. And BTW you would not believe how far a unit of currency goes here!
