Today, May 26th, is a very special day for our family. Five years ago, our twin girls were born: Maddy & Hannah.
It was such a perfect day.
Then, Maddy was diagnosed with infant leukemia at just three months old. We went through so much as a family, and through the odds, Maddy made it to her first birthday: May 26, 2022.
It was the only birthday we got to celebrate with her here on earth.
This year, would be Maddy's 5th birthday. And, today, we celebrated Hannah with all of our might! And, Hannah, decided that she wanted to also share Maddy's story at school - by reading her "Maddy book" to all of her friends. Even her teacher made a sign for both Maddy & Hannah. It was so special watching Hannah talk so fiercely about her sister.
That's why, every year for Hannah and Maddy's birthdays, I share our family's story and ask that you made a donation of any size to support our work at Madelyn James.
We also have an amazing event coming up in the Washington, DC area: Our Bow Bash!
It will be on Thursday, June 11th at the ALX Community Waterfront space from 6:30pm-10pm.
I would love for you to join us in person for a very special event raising funds for families so they can also stay together during hard times.
And, we also honor May as #gograyinmay for brain cancer. Help me celebrate, honor, remember, and give to families who need our support in their hardest days.
You were there for us. And, we are eternally grateful.
Madelyn James Pediatric Cancer Foundation
We are committed to access and equity in pediatric cancer care. Our mission is to partner with pediatric cancer families to take the logistical stress out of finding a cure for their child. We imagine a world where no family has to decide the fate of their child based on where they live, how much money they make, or how they identify. Every child has an equal right to a cure. Every family has the right to stay together.
Every contribution, big or small, makes a real impact. Even just a few dollars can help move our mission forward and reach those who need it most: families who have a baby or toddler facing cancer. And, we get it because we've been through it.
Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity. It means the world to us! We love you.
