Help Union City LL Rebuild & Keep the Season Going
Union City Little League has been a cherished part of the Naugatuck community for 75 years, giving children a place to grow through teamwork, sportsmanship, and the joy of baseball and softball. This league is more than just a game - it’s a tradition that brings together players, families, and volunteers to create memories that last a lifetime. The garnet and grey run deep in both our baseball and softball teams. Unfortunately, we’re now facing a challenge that could impact the future of UCLL for years to come.
As recently shared with our community, we discovered that league funds were misused by a former board member for personal purposes. Like many of you, we were shocked and heartbroken by this news. The funds in question had been set aside for critical renovations—including our newly improved concession stand—and to support a smooth and successful spring season. While we are actively working with legal and financial professionals to recover what was lost, we need your help now to keep our league running and support our players.
How Your Donation Will Help:
• Cover unpaid invoices from field and facility renovations—allowing us to maintain strong relationships with our local vendors.
• Ensure the season continues, including games, player events, umpire fees, and concession operations.
• Support basic operating costs to provide a safe, positive environment for our athletes. For example, electricity and water bills.
We’ve already taken steps to improve financial oversight and ensure nothing like this ever happens again. Our current board is made up entirely of volunteers, who have shown incredible dedication and strength over these past few weeks. Their work, along with the amazing support from our community, gives us hope.
This year marks a major milestone—75 years of Union City Little League. If you grew up in Naugatuck, there’s a good chance you, your parents, or your kids have played on these fields. UCLL has always been proud to give back to the community, including through annual college scholarships for former players.
Now, we’re asking for your support to help us continue that legacy. We understand that not everyone may be in a position to give. If you can’t donate at this time, please consider sharing this fundraiser with friends, family, and fellow baseball/softball lovers—especially those who’ve been part of the Union City Little League family over the years. Every share helps spread the word and brings us one step closer to protecting this league for future generations.
Thank you for standing with us, for believing in the future of Union City Little League, and for showing our young athletes what true community looks like—even in tough times.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Union City Little League Board of Directors
