Hello mountain bikers and trail users!
LAMBA is exited to announce that several trail projects at Beverly Park will be getting underway in the near future!! We obtained price quotes from 3 trail builders and have awarded this project to a local trail company, Backyard Trails, which is owned by Ken Barker. Backyard Trails (BYT) quoted this project at $18.5k and was the lowest bid. In addition to getting a great price for this project from BYT, we also get Ken’s intimate knowledge of the Beverly trail system and his passion for creating great local trails!
The LAMBA board has already voted to use $11.5k of our existing funds for this project and paid BYT a retainer of approximately $2k. LAMBA will pay BYT in stages as each portion of the project is completed. As BYT gets started, LAMBA is also looking to raise an additional $7k to get us to the $18.5k quoted project amount. Board members are reaching out to local businesses, non-profits, and government agencies to try to secure additional funding. If your employer would be willing to donate to a local project like this, please let us know and we can get you our remittance/non-profit information.
Any donation, even a small one, will help us continue to bring great singletrack trails to the Linn County area!
Thanks for reading and we will keep you updated as these projects develop!

A map of the project areas and a description of the individual projects is included below:

1. Finish Flowy McFlowface - $5,000
The finished product will be a machine built flow that will complement the trails going in on Mt. Trashmore along with LAMBA's newer flowy trails at Squaw Creek. The second half of this trail will contain berms and rollers/lifts and also has the potential for wooden wall rides.

2. The Miscreant - $1,000
This is a challenging black level trail, an experience mostly missing from Beverly. Vegetation and dangerous debris has taken over this trail and the unfinished portion needs to be established. The finished trail will have clear routing, a repaired waterway crossing, and a fair amount of rock-work with thoughtful and intentional placement.

3. Kids Trail - $2,500
This trail's intended purposes is to be a true “gateway” trail that introduces all new users – children or not – to the fun of mountain biking. This trail has evolved over time and is due for enhancements such as looped routing, drainage improvements, strider friendly terrain, and robust features that all ages can use to hone their skills.

4. Confusion Zones - $4,000
There are a few remaining areas at Beverly Park where trails intersect in a counterintuitive manner. Redesigning these sections will result in more rider friendly and sustainable trails without all the confusion.

5. Park-wide Feature Updates - $3,000
This portion of the project consists of inspecting, repairing, replacing, and/or decommissioning deteriorating boardwalks, bridges, “skinnies”, and other technical trail features as the trail system currently contains many aging features.

6. New Black-Rated Trail - $3,000
This trail is yet to be named but will give experienced trail users an additional trail experience to challenge themselves. Beverly’s trails are primarily greens or blues and an additional black trail is long overdue.
