It is imperative that a school’s visual culture validates, affirms, and celebrates students' identities. KIPP Chicago has prioritized creating school environments that are filled with identity affirming imagery, from the art on the walls to the books on the shelves. To pursue this priority, we are raising $10,000 to reproduce student artwork initially displayed at our Children's Museum of Art and Social Justice , specifically the Activist Soup  exhibition (shown in the photo above). 

By raising $10,000, we will be able to create warm, positive, identity affirming school spaces with a student-made art installations at each of our 8 schools. We will also install custom murals at each campus, illustrating the joy, power, resilience, ingenuity, achievements, and activism of Black and Brown culture. With many changes happening in our buildings to ensure COVID-19 safety, these art installations will helps us create spaces that still prioritize having warm, welcoming, identity-affirming imagery. 

More on our Children's Museum of Art and Social Justice : The mission of the museum is to offer a space for the voices of KIPP Chicago students to be heard and to infuse a social justice curriculum into the arts at our eight schools. Our students range in age from 5-14 and the museum offers a space to showcase and celebrate their artistic explorations of social justice themes, inspiring action toward social change.

Our art exhibits are the result of students engaging in topics such as: the effects of gun violence, geopolitics and physical borders, the forgotten history of the origins of indigo dye, architecture and urban planning, water access and rights, the aesthetic theories and philosophies of Afrofuturism, activism, food justice, and more. 

We are so grateful for any amount you are able to give to help us install these important and relevant art exhibits at all of our schools.

Hello Family and Friends!

It's here!  KIPP One Academy’s Inaugural Spring Musical auditions have begun!

For the past two years, KIPP One Academy (KOA) has been the top ranked public elementary school in the city of Chicago. Not only is KOA leading the way with their academic data but they also have one of the most robust after school programs I have ever experienced. This program allows students to not only expand their extracurricular skill set but creates a deep sense of belonging. As amazing as the after school offerings are, they don’t have a musical theatre department...UNTIL NOW! Myself and three other directors will be building this department from the ground up and we need your positive vibes, talents and generosity!  All we are starting with is an extremely large auditorium; we need your help establishing a microphone system, spotlight, fabric for costumes and set, props, Saturday rehearsal snacks, and so much more!

This year, we will be performing Disney Jr.'s The Lion King!  We are really excited to put on such an exciting show!!! This show is a very large production with about 40 actors/actresses/dancers, 10 stage crew members, 4 directors, and countless more families and friends who will volunteer to help with the elaborate set and costumes that need to be created.

However, again, we are starting with very minimal resources.  This musical will require a lot of time and money to make the set and costumes, as well as scripts and music for the students involved.  We are depending on the generosity of people from near and far to help our KIPPster's Lion King dreams come true!!!

If you would like to help out, any donation, no matter how big or how small will help!  The money you donate will go directly to the musical in various ways.  It may provide a costume for Simba, Nala, or Zazu, or perhaps it will help build the Elephant Graveyard, or maybe it will provide the paint needed to create the masks for the Wilddbeest Stampede!  (Want your money to go to something specific, let us know!)

Additionally, if you have creativity or talents that can help our show in some way, that is fantastic!  If you would like to create a costume or a mask for the show and send it to Chicago, you are more than welcomed to.  You can send me a message directly to let me know if this is something that you are interested in, which costume/mask you want to make, and I can send you the measurements of the student.  

KIPP One Academy and the musical cast and crew appreciate, deeply, any and all donations in any form that they are given.  The students in the musical will work hard to make this show an enormous success, and throughout this journey, we will continue to update our network of donors and volunteers on the progress with the show!!

It's our problem free philosophy, hakuna matata!

We are raising money to benefit KIPP Chicago Schools, and any donation will make a difference. Many thanks to those who support our staff and our scholars, unconditionally. Myself, along with two warm souls, Anna and Lauren Rutkowski will be running the Milwaukee Lakefront Marathon; a scenic 26.2 miles southbound through the countryside and lakefront.

At KIPP One Primary we are focused not only on developing our students academic skills but also on developing the social needs of our students, who primarily come from vastly underserved communities. KIPP One Primary aims to create a positive and consistent student culture by equipping our students with the self-assurance and perseverance to foster a sense of belonging and pride. KOP will empower our students with the self-confidence to make choices which impact themselves and others in a positive way. They will be encouraged to share successes and failures with one another, and KOP will constantly maximize our efforts with an eye toward improvement.

We are teachers at KIPP Bloom College Prep in Englewood, Chicago. Our students need your help to read! 


Every child should have the opportunity to walk into their school library and choose a book that they are excited to read. Unfortunately, our kids don’t have that opportunity due to a lack of funding. We hope that you can help us unlock their potential by providing them with books that will help them continue to grow their curious minds. 

No donation is too small of a donation, and every dollar you pledge will be an investment in the future of our students and community. 

Our kiddos LOVE reading and getting new books more than anything. Just look at the smiles on those faces!

KIPP Bloom  is the only Level 1+ school serving the students of Englewood. We are a 5-8 middle school, so many of our students come to us never having felt success with reading, and several grade levels behind in reading.

One of our main missions is to teach our students to love reading, so that those positive habits will continue for a lifetime.
