Kaiizen firewood and coal drive to the Hopi
The Hopi people are a Native American tribe, located in northern Arizona. The reservation encompasses more than 1.5 million acres, and is made up of 12 villages on three mesas. Through our close friends on the reservation we have decided to raise some funds to fulfill some urgent needs.
Kaiizen is a humanitarian foundation dedicated to benefitting the lives of those in the community locally and those abroad, as well as changing the lives of those who choose to serve with us.
With the permission of the tribal elders we are raising money to help the Hopi people this winter, who have been disproportionately affected by COVID. They are hurting because a lot of the younger generations have left the reservation because they cannot find work there which leaves the older generation more exposed and less able to get help that they need.
The money we're raising will buy coal and food for the winter period. The change of season is extraordinarily hard on the more elderly people, they need more help to get through the winter. We will also use this money to repair as many roofs as possible, as many have fallen into disrepair.
In conjunction with that, we are going to run a group of volunteers down to the reservation to help distribute the coal and supplies. That same group of volunteers will chop donated firewood and deliver with the coal. We will also bring down all the food and blankets that we have been able to receive through donations and help distribute that to those most needy.
100% of your donations will go towards supplies for this trip. Kaiizen is all volunteer with minimal/to no overhead so we can do the most with your donations.
