In Honor of Izzy Gendusa
There is no way around it, the world is a different place without mom in it. Isabel, Izzy, or Ishu (as the kids call her), left us on November 15th to go "home" after being diagnosed with breast cancer 1.5 years ago. She was the most generous soul who was never afraid to be her own person – whether we liked it or not! : ) I learned so much from her - from the names of all the flowers in her garden to the importance of showing compassion and respect for every human - she helped shape me as a person. Her spunky presence will be missed by so many.
In honor of mom and in lieu of services, we are setting up a way to donate to Hospice of Spokane, a local non-profit organization. While so many people helped in so many ways (thank you!), Hospice was instrumental in supporting and caring for my mom and our family for this past year. They never charged us a dime and we could not have done it without them. Donations will support others who need care in their final stage of life. All money (minus the GoFundMe fee) will go directly to Hospice of Spokane.
Thank you all for loving my mom so well. She loved you too. xo
