Vicky Griffin Memorial Fund
Until the day she passed from this world to her heavenly home, Vicky Griffin loved sharing Jesus's love with children. She spent countless days planning and preparing lessons, activities, crafts, and music ministering to children and teaching them about Jesus.
She answered God's call to venture from her home base in Bunn, North Carolina and found herself in Belarus, in the midst of communities suffering from the Chernobyl nuclear fallout, rampant alcoholism, poverty, and overall hopelessness. She poured her heart and resources into meeting the needs of children in the most desperate conditions in villages and orphanages she met in her travels across Belarus And it was her unlimited love and hugs for these children that provided them a real life demonstration of the Hope found in Jesus Christ.
She was dedicated to serving in the Isle of Hope Camp established outside Mogilev, Belarus, being one of the first Americans to work on making the abandoned grounds and buildings suitable for children's summer camp. In her 20 or so trips to Belarus, she contributed to the growth and operation of the Isle of Hope to where it currently services over 1000 children each summer through week long residential experiences directed at meeting the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the campers.
Vicky formalized her mission work as one of the founding members of Hearts For Children International. She served as Secretary but she was the face and heart of the non-profit, on the front lines with fundraising, mission trips, and outreach.
This GoFundMe page is dedicated in Memory of Vicky Griffin, in honor of her love for children, and in continued support of her passion to serve her Lord, Jesus Christ.
