Bill's Cancer Battle and Our Farm's Future
Hi, my husband and I run a sanctuary farm in Northeastern PA. We are a non-profit and have been in existence for almost 13 years. We have mostly self-funded our sanctuary, which is home to approximately 70 fur babies. Bill went into the hospital last spring and had a tumor removed, which turned out to be cancer. This is his 5th primary cancer. His first cancer was almost 13 years ago, and it was these babies that gave him a reason to get up every day. I myself am a left below-knee amputee, and I have autoimmune arthritis. Life hasn’t been kind at all, and with all the running for doctor appointments for both of us, we have fallen on hard times and we have fallen behind on our mortgage and we are in fear of losing our farm. Just our feed bill per week is around $1000. If you could find it in your heart to help us save our sanctuary farm so these babies can continue to live out their lives here, we would be so appreciative. We know this is a big ask, and times are hard for everyone. Once we catch up, we will be okay, but this has really been a super hard year. Through all of it, we continued the hard work of keeping the farm going. Please help us save their home. Thank you. As of 4/7/25 we received another devastating blow and a new cancer diagnosis to navigate. Please keep sharing as we will need on going help. We were hoping we were on the other side of this cancer journey but it decided we were not. Bill will be going to see a specialist and try and make a plan from there. So now we will be traveling out of state for his appointments.
