Hope Has a Home: Helping Women and Children in DFW Build New Beginnings
We are a small, dedicated team of University of North Texas students who believe that every person deserves to live with safety, dignity, and hope. We know that even in life’s darkest moments, compassion and community can help light the way toward a brighter future. That is why we are raising funds for Genesis Women’s Shelter & Support, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to providing safety, advocacy, and hope for women and children affected by domestic violence throughout North Texas. Domestic violence impacts countless lives, and one in three Texans will experience it during their lifetime. For survivors, finding safety is only the beginning of a courageous journey toward healing, independence, and renewed confidence. With the right support, every survivor has the opportunity to reclaim their strength, rebuild their life, and embrace a future filled with possibility.
We are proud to support Genesis because of its unwavering commitment to helping survivors move beyond crisis and toward lasting stability, empowerment, and brighter beginnings. Each year, Genesis supports more than 3,500 women and children and provides over 12,000 hours of therapy and counseling. Behind these numbers are individuals and families demonstrating extraordinary courage and resilience as they work toward a safer tomorrow. Every donation to our campaign, whether $5, $50, or any amount you can give, can help sustain this vital mission. Your generosity helps provide safe shelter, trauma-informed counseling, legal advocacy and protective order assistance, educational resources that foster long-term independence, nutritious meals, and everyday essentials. Together, we can help create an environment where survivors feel supported, regain confidence in themselves, and discover that their past does not define their future.
