Friends of Compass Charter School

Welcome to our annual FALL FLING! The Fall Fling is our first family event of the year and historically, has been one of our biggest fundraisers. While we cannot be physical together, we can experience joy and community through a virtual space.  In response to the global pandemic, the Compass FSC has raised funds to ensure that every family has their basic needs met.  Looking forward to the last few months of remote instruction, the FSC is hoping to develop a Park Play Program at several local parks where families can access childcare for a few hours and students can access social interaction.  The funds raised through this event will directly support supervised Park Play across Brooklyn.  Thanks for your support!

More information about Friends of Compass Charter School: The Compass Family School Collaborative supports the Compass Charter School’s Mission by engaging community members, families, students, and staff in developing meaningful connections.  The Compass FSC strives to honor the collective and celebrate diversity with a focus on equity, inclusion, and learning.  By creating intentional community events and engaging in fundraising efforts, the FSC supports additional programming focused on the arts, sustainability, and enriching the educational experiences of all community members.

During the 2019-20 school, our school community has experienced unprecedented times together.  We have joined together in new virtual communities, protested together for Black Lives Matter, and stayed connected through a global Pandemic.  As we look forward to 2020-21, we know that Compass is experiencing citywide budget decreases in our per-pupil spending.  To help support the overall school community, the FSC is asking for additional funds as we end the 2019-20 school year so we can improve how we develop fundraising strategies for next year.  We appreciate any support offered.  If you are not interested in donating to the Compass FSC at this time, we encourage you to consider donating to organizations associated with Black Lives Matter movement and patronizing Black owned businesses.
