Even in India winter is coming!

As you all know, Jon and I visited Food For Live Vrindavan (the Sandipani Muni School), aka FFLV, when we came to India on the Bhakti Yatra with Sridhar Silberfein, founder of Bhakti Fest, and Saul David Raye, most beloved teacher, almost a year ago.  FFLV provides education to girls, many of whom live in the slums, some are orphans, and all are the poorest of the poor.  Without this school most of these children would have no educational opportunities and many would be married off as early as at the age of 12 facing a very bleak future. FFLV gives these children a chance to improve their lives by providing them with an education, healthy and nourishing food, clothing and medical care, while campaigning against child marriage.  We were so impressed and moved by the school and the children that we spent the better part of the last year planning our return so that we could be of service to them.

Now that we are a just over a month into our planned three months of service, they are gearing up for winter and need to purchase warm clothes for 1,300 girls.  Winter clothing for the children includes a sweater, slacks, two pairs of socks, a scarf, gloves and a monkey cap (a cap with ear flaps).  The amount needed to purchase the clothing is $7600, less than $6 per child.
Obviously these children are very near and dear to our hearts and we would like to help them in whatever way we can. We have contributed $760, 10% of the needed amount, and are reaching out to you, our friends, and FB and Bhakti family, to ask if you would be able to lend your support as well.
