More information about Downtown Clinic: The Downtown Clinic is a Free Clinic that provides healthcare to low-income, uninsured residents of Albany County without access to healthcare.  Whether $5, $50 or $500, your donation will help our volunteers provide care to all in our community.

The Laramie Downtown Clinic provides free comprehensive primary healthcare for low income residents and families of Albany County. The clinic has been serving the community of Laramie since 1999 and operates on a volunteer basis. The providers, pharmacists, physical therapists, counselors, translators, and support staff all donate their time and services to provide exceptional healthcare at no cost to the patient. Currently the clinic serves hundreds of clients weekly many of which suffer from chronic health diseases, particularly hypertension and diabetes.

These chronic illnesses are characterized by their persistent deterioration to the human body. Even when medication and healthcare services are provided, it often does not address the root cause of the disease.

It’s no secret that exercise and lifestyle modification are key factors in managing if not reversing these disease processes. Many of our clients are working citizens with 9-5, Monday – Friday jobs seeking to provide for their families and have little time to for self-care let alone the resources or time for exercise.  Additionally, these clients do not have the financial means to support a consistent fitness lifestyle; this includes a regular gym membership during the winter months, work-out clothes, fitness instruction, and healthy food choices.

Our goal is to partner with Crossfit 7220 and the Human Physiology Club at the University of Wyoming to create a program to facilitate a safe environment to engage in exercise, to provide education on current health conditions and to build appropriate exercise programing tailored to our clients specific needs, leading to healthier lifestyles, disease management, and ultimately sustainable healing.

 The funds raised through this fundraiser will help to provide the means necessary to take this from dream to reality. By our financial estimations, if our goal of $2000 is met these funds would help provide weekly expert training, healthy post work-out snacks, and a set of gym clothes for an entire calendar year.   Thank you in advance for your support!
