STOP Fracking 3,200 Mars Schoolchildren
The Mars Area School District School Board voted to unanimously reject a proposal from Rex Energy for drilling under the school property on March 11th. (see news video here:

)
But it doesn't end there for our children. Rex Energy continues efforts to drill 6 unconventional gas wells and place a 15.3 million gallon impoundment (frack pond) half a mile from our school campus of 5 buildings that house over 3200 children. Concerned parents and residents have discovered that the township supervisors intend to allow these wells despite the fact that the proposed location of the wells is in a residentially zoned area that does not allow unconventional gas drilling. For that reason, we ask that you please consider donating to help us continue our legal battle. We have retained the counsel of Jordan Yeager, who successfully challenged portions of the PA Act 13 Oil and Gas Act in front of the PA Supreme Court and continues to challenge other pieces of Act 13, including the "doctor's gag law." Please help us to force our township to abide by it's own laws and comply with the PA Supreme Court's findings in the monumental Act 13 decision regarding the constitutional duty of municipal governments to carry out the duties imposed by the Environmental Rights Amendment.
With the help of Clean Air Council, your donation is tax deductible and 100% will go towards our legal fees. This is a groundbreaking case in PA, and will pave the way for communities and school districts all over the state to stand up and say ENOUGH! Back OFF our children!
