Aaron and Regent are recent high school graduates who will be attending college this fall. They are both talented musicians who were members of their high school band, fierce, competitive track athletes, and active members of their church and community. These handsome young men look like your typical teenagers and in most respects they are, but one way that they are atypical, is that they both have autism. Their parents are extremely proud of their accomplishments but remember the challenging moments and days (and they still have them!) when having another set of hands to provide safe, convenient, and individualized activities would have been helpful.
1 in 54 children in the United States will be diagnosed with autism this year and if you do not have a child with autism, chances are, you know someone who does. Raising children is not easy but caring for children on the spectrum comes with a host of other challenges. While you might be packing for a family vacation, planning playdates, or just enjoying down time this summer, there is a family, probably within a mile of you, dreading the unstructured time and long days. Before you slip into your “rest and relaxation” mode, please consider enabling another deserving family to have theirs.
Autism Wings Inc., is a 501 (c) (3) charity organization that strives to provide clients, ages 5-21, with the most comfortable, convenient, and rewarding experience by bringing a mobile interactive space, the Autismobile, to their home for 60–90-minute sessions. Our main priority at this time is to raise enough money in donations to enable us to purchase a Recreational Vehicle (RV) that will be converted into this classroom-like activity unit. Since summer can be particularly challenging for families with children on the autism spectrum and they typically have greater needs that require a different level of supervision than most of their peers, filling the days can be overwhelming and quite honestly exhausting.
Our goal is to get the Autismobile rolling down the street and parked in front of the homes of deserving families before the end of July. We can do this!! These amazing kids need this support, and their caregivers deserve the respite. Some of your donations will go towards purchasing supplies for the Autismobile so that our clients have a wealth of activities from which to choose when in our care. This also includes equipment and supplies that will allow them to practice daily life skills to aid them in becoming as self-sufficient and independent as possible.

Our society can’t be whole, until all of its member’s needs, have been met.
