I’m making the promise to MATCH all donations up to $1,000 (will post receipts and check when dropped off at the center later this week)!!! They receive no government funding. As the weeks go on, and still no potable water or income for most in the area, they are facing unprecedented challenges. Even if you cannot donate, sharing this could help save a furry friend!!

We are a simple club at South Charlotte Middle School, and we have studied and watched videos and articles about animal testing, abuse, and puppy mills. We are currently collecting donations at our school to donate to the Asheville Humane Society . We are donating things such as blankets, dog food, towels, and much more.

Today we are hoping you donate, even as little as a dollar; any amount would help our club reach our goal. All of the earnings will go to the Asheville Humane Society. Since Hurricane Helene passed through Florida, Georgia, and North Carolina, the Asheville Humane Society has helped a multitude of animals get back to their owners, and they have also helped strays get medical attention when they need it. We would be so grateful if you could spare any amount of money.

Hurricane Helene, a category 4 hurricane, made landfall on September 26th. Helene caused flooding and catastrophic damage from Florida to the Carolinas. Western North Carolina received record breaking flooding and wind speeds, completely destroying homes and interstates/roads within and surrounding Asheville and West North Carolina.

Asheville Humane Society is overfilled with animals and are in need of fosters and any donations possible. As veterinary professionals, our job is to be an advocate for animals who need help. If you are unable to help Asheville in person, please help by donating so that this organization can help as many animals possible. This GoFundMe is to help with the Asheville Humane Society and to help with funds needed after the severe influx of animals from the storm.

Personal introduction: My name is Paige Edwards, I am a veterinary assistant at NVS. I grew up in Florida with multiple hurricanes a year. I also grew up with frequent family trips and recently solo trips to Asheville and hold a love for the Blue Ridge Mountains. Since I am familiar with the damage that a Category 3-4 hurricane can cause, I knew I needed to do something to help. If you have ever visited the Blue Ridge Mountains and the unique city of Asheville then you also know the beauty that it holds and I ask you to please help any way you can.

People who have never adopted from or volunteered with the Asheville Humane Society gave hours of their time and work to help their animals, but the work is not over. They are still without water and still have animals to care for in their shelter that are in need of close attention.

My name is Anna, and I am raising funds for the furry victims of Hurricane Helene, particularly in western North Carolina. Disaster response teams are tirelessly working to assist pets. One of the main challenges is providing essential supplies, medication, and veterinary support for them. The Asheville Humane Society, an open-intake shelter located in Buncombe County, NC, is a nonprofit organization that operates independently from the Humane Society of the United States. They have successfully evacuated over 100 animals to nearby shelters. Although they currently face water shortages, they are committed to helping as many animals as possible. In October, I am cycling 200 miles to support their efforts (I have already completed 30 miles).
