Cancer Treatment and Assistance During Shutdown

Donation protected
As many of you may know, my beautiful wife Cynthia has been diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma (cancer of the plasma cells). The past few months have been very difficult on us both navigating the various options for treatment. We’ve been clinging to one another and the Lord for wisdom and discernment.

I am also a furloughed worker, as an HR Specialist for the US International Trade Commission we are experiencing the hardship of the government shutdown.  I currently have no income coming in.

Cynthia has been referred to UAMS Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute in Little Rock, Arkansas for treatment for two stem-cell transplants. We will incur costs for her treatment of course and also the cost for her to stay while there, ranging around $2000 per month for the next 6-7 months for ongoing treatment.

While it is uncomfortable for my wife and I to ask for this kind of support, I realize that I have no other option than to reach out in faith. We don't really know what our costs will be at this point, it could be well-beyond the goal we set here, or it may be less. Either way, we both believe that God will indeed provide for our needs as He sees fit, and we have prayed and asked in the belief that we have received (Phil 4:19, Mark 11:24). Please give as God puts on your heart.

We are grateful to NBC News for highlighting our story here: https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/congress/furloughed-workers-stretch-manage-financial-concerns-during-shutdown-n957741

If you feel led to support us with any amount, please know that we will be most appreciative and celebratory over His blessings through you! I thank you from the bottom of my heart. May God bless you all abundantly.
