We are raising funds to support Chris Groombridge's (Boomer) battle with multiple myeloma.  Funds raised will help support needs associated with treatment.  

This fundraising effort is being spearheaded by his friends in the rugby community.  Chris has been a long time member and executive of the Sarnia Saints Rugby Club.  He has been piviotol in the development of rugby in Sarnia and Southwest Ontario at all levels.  His passion for the game is well known.  He made certain that any child or youth could participate in the game, whether they had the financial means or not.  

Outside of the rugby world Chris is well known and cheery face in Lambton Mall, where he operated The Sampler for many years and more recently the Calendar Club.  He is simply a people person and has always enjoyed greeting customers and other staff in the mall.  

Beyond his work and rugby life, the most important role he plays is that of a father and grandfather, something he has not taken for granted.  Although his treatment often leaves him tired he always greets his grandchildren with that big welcoming smile and hug when they come visit.  

Chris is a proud man and has lots of fight left in him.   Although he would be the first one to step up to support others, he would be reluctant to reach out to others on his own behalf.  That's where we come in!  Let's show Boomer how much he means to us and give him a real boost as he heads into some pretty tough treatment in September.
