Ashley Martinez Medical Fund

Late in the day, on September 20, 2017, life was irrevocably altered for Ashley Martinez. She doesn’t remember the 2010 gray Ford Fusion that struck her as she crossed the street. She doesn’t remember being dragged under the car. The driver of that Ford did not stop. This was a hit and run. By the grace of God, Ashley is still alive today. If you had seen the graphic video you would not think someone might be able to survive that. Thankfully she did, but she is broken. She suffered a dozen fractures; her skull, clavicle, and pelvis; not to mention the road-rash burns she sustained from head to toe. She only just turned 21 on September 10th and has already undergone surgery for skin grafts to help her heal from this tragic and criminal act. Unfortunately the driver is still at large and it will be some time before she is able to find out if the insurance of that vehicle will be covering her medical expenses. Ashley is going to need a lot of rehabilitation to get her to where she was prior to this incident. She has no medical insurance and needs our help. If you can please help, even just donating a dollar, that will be so much help to her. She is going to be in recovery for weeks and will more than likely need more surgeries to help with the injuries she sustained. She will need care at home, medications, follow up visits, dressings and so much more. Her hospital bills will be astronomical. Currently SAPD is undergoing an investigation and the hit-and-run driver will be prosecuted, once found, for failure to stop and render aid.
