The 5 star athletes that colleges drool over to hand over thousands of scholarship dollars represent a small percentage of the millions looking to advance their academic careers and achieve success on and off the field of play. As a strength and conditioning coach I have seen first hand the heartbreak of a family not able to afford the college opportunities that many of these student-athletes are academically qualified for but financially unable to achieve. Thus instead of complaining about it; (which I admit I did for a time) I want to be a part of the solution as opposed to the problem. Growing up in Virginia Beach, VA I remember the words of wisdom from none other than our family barber:
"Education can be the difference between the kid that ends up owning the bank or the kid that robs the bank!"
A little dramatic? Maybe. But we can do our part to stop the possibility of such tragic scenarios from becoming true. Thanks for your support!
