Maximos Chin's Eagle Scout Project

Dear Scouts and Parents,
My name is Max Chin, and I am currently a Life scout within the troop 993 in Houston. I have been involved in scouting since the age of 11, and began my journey in 2012 as a member of Troop 803 in Lagos, Nigeria. Throughout the initial years of my scouting career, I came to discover and realize just how enjoyable I find it to be. In particular, one of the aspects of scouting that I found most to be the most unique and rewarding was how it allowed me to directly connect to the community that I was part of and take direct action to benefit my community. Then, in 2015, I moved to Beijing, and joined Troop 943. It is during this period in which I raised my commitment to scouting and decided to focus more time on advancing rank and playing a bigger role in the troop. During my time with Troop 943, I was also privileged to serve in various leadership positions within the troop, including Troop Guide and Assistant Senior Patrol Leader. Then, in 2017, I moved once again and became a member of Troop 993 here in Houston. Although my time as part of the troop may seem relatively limited, throughout this past year, I have been an active member of the troop and consistently attend meetings, as well as serving as Troop Guide and leading the FCE patrol. Throughout my life during these past six years and across three continents, one of the things that has remained consistent is my participation and commitment to the BSA.
Now, at the epitome of my scouting career, I have the privilege to give back to the community that has supported me for so long. In late June, I will be holding my Eagle Scout Project, which is a service project designed and led by myself and is a requirement for me to attain the rank of Eagle Scout. In my project, I will be repairing and replacing tables and chairs at Emerson Elementary School. I am reaching out to you today in order to request donations to obtain the materials and supplies that are necessary for me to carry out my project. Currently, I estimate that the total funds required will be approximately $600. Any support from you in the form of donation (any amount) is much appreciated.
