My only blood brother passed away August 18, 2010. He was 30 years old and too young to leave us so soon. My brother had a challenging life. He battled a blood disease called Sickle Cell Anemia since he was 6 months old that left him ill and in constant pain. When he was well, he tried to live his life to the fullest. It was from watching my brother in pain and eventually saying goodbye to him forever that helped me realize 3 big things:
1. Tomorrow is not guaranteed
2. Some opportunities will never come again if missed
3. Good health is life’s greatest gift
My brother’s struggles helped steer me in the direction of fitness and health, and helping others. When I became a mom, I found my tribe, moms. I am living my passion everyday helping moms feel, look and be their best. This is my passion, work and legacy!
It is that passion that paved the way to this amazing opportunity. I was asked to collaborate on a book as a co-author. The goal for the book is to help inspire, motivate and encourage people to live the life of their dreams in mind, body and spirit/soul. I am honored beyond belief. This book is going to have some riveting people and stories. Some of the co-authors include: Phil Collen (Def Leppard Guitarist), Erik Logan (Harpo and OWN Network), B Real (yep, Mr. Cypress Hill himself), Jeanette Ortega, Mike Messina, Shkira Singh, Donald Padilla, Angelica Perman, Karen Desouches, Julio Martinez, Robert Rodriguez, …so many amazing names and achievements. The common thread between all the co-authors is our passion for health, fitness and wellbeing!
As a wife, mom of two, owner of a budding Baby Boot Camp business, I have many time and financial demands. I almost passed on this golden opportunity. Then I remembered my brother and the lessons he taught me. It lit a fire in me and I decided to find a way to capture this once in a lifetime shot. The funds that I am requesting will go towards my share of getting the book published, obtaining copies of the book, marketing the book and reaching more people to inspire.
