Finegan Girls Sing in Italy

Music has always been a big part of the Finegan family home. When homeschooling, Clare had the children singing rounds when they were little to learn how to harmonize, and taught them piano as well. When Julia was seven years old, she started composing original songs for her sisters so they could all sing together while she harmonized. After five years of singing together at home and in local choirs and productions, Julia and Martha have been offered the opportunity to perform in the heart of Italy!
Julia and Martha have been chosen to participate in two productions of the International Opera Theater under the direction of American stage director Karen Lauria Saillant. The first is a small production in the Festival of Sacred Music in Assisi, and is based on the writings of Hildegard Von Bingen on the virtues. The other is a major opera, with chamber orchestra, which will be based on Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream", with music composed by award winning Filipino film music composer, Von De Guzman and libretto by world renowned Italian Maestro, Antonio Fava. The girls will portray Fairies and will be singing with professional opera singers from around the world!
They will live and work in a beautiful small town high up in the hills of Umbria for a month as they practice for the performances. We need to raise at least $10,000 for airfare for the girls and a chaperone, participation in the program, room and board for a month, passports, etc, The total cost is difficult to calculate because the exchange rate and the price of airfare constantly changes. They leave for Italy on July 30th. We need to raise money pretty quickly so we can purchase our tickets while the prices are still low!
This is such an amazing opportunity for the girls! It would be transformative for them to stay in a place like Città della Pieve, Umbria, and experience another culture while making music with such accomplished artists! It would mean so much to us all if Julia and Martha would be able to make this dream a reality! Will you help them?
