Humanity for Horses Rescue and Rehab saves horses that are destined for slaughter for human consumption. We bid against meat buyers at various auctions in BC and Alberta. We rehab these horses through a variety of different methods to rehome the horses that are able to be rehomed. Some horses remain at the foundation to live out their days due to health issues or age. They are provided with stalls and all day turn out into fields. There are many resident senior horses and ponies that require mash diets as well as a variety of medical supplies and daily medications. Our current feed costs are $200 per day as well as other various expenses such as vet, farrier, and property lease.

We simply cannot afford to continue without the support of the community. Please help us help these rescue horses. It takes a village to see change and we are changing the life of each and every horse or pony that walks through our doors.

Banner says Merry Christmas, he is so excited to be celebrating Christmas this year, as the vets recommended euthanizing him when he came in...he was missing 3 incisor teeth and his overall body score was 1.5 out of 5. Well I must say sometimes my gut tells me otherwise and we decide not to do what is recommended. We therefore got a vet clearance to haul him with 3 layovers to the coast as he was so depleted...after about 6 weeks of getting him he finally arrived at his foster home....a nutritionalist specialist and this boy is happily gaining weight and loving life again.....and so excited to meet Santa and his reindeer tonight. Merry Christmas and bless you all. May you day be filled with magic and miracles like Banners is. We honestly couldnt do this without all your support...thank you thank you thank you
