Help Daughter Stay Close to Mom in ICU

Donation protected
Its been a long road since mom was airlifted from Sylvania GA to Memorial Hospital in Savannah GA, tomorrow will be 14 days to be exact. I will never forget the agonizing 3+ hours of driving after I got the call that she was sick and the time I made it to her bedside. She was unresponsive, on a ventilator and clinging to life by a thread. I hit my knees in tears, and prayer...begging GOD not to take her yet!!! The next several days were a blur, doctors, surgeries, and decisions that I wasn't prepared to make were a rollercoaster ride thru a haunted house and no one would let me off. From the first emergency surgery when they rushed to close the perforated ulcer that had led to toxic shock and ultimately to her comatose state..the second surgery to remove the remaining infection and toxins in her system, and the first successful attempt to remove her from the ventilator. The morning she had to go back on the vent and the doctors started talking about pallative care and end of life comfort, and the decision no dadughter wants to make for their mother, and one that is impossible to make before you are in those shoes. I took a deep breathe and signed the consent to put a trache in to continue life support measures. I knew if she was given the chance to fight she would....then I prayed and prayed and prayed for a miracle. And a Miracle is exactly what I GOT!!! Mom began to improve, she was weaned off all sedation and started following commands, and eventually was able to communicate via writing on a white board! Then today we got the good news that she would be moved from ICU to a step down unit and eventually to a subacute rehab hospital!! We went up then down...forward and backwards, like a dance with no rhyme or reason. We celebrated her birthday in the ICU and it reminds me that we don't always get the second chance to get it right but I am thankful GOD is giving me that second chance with momma! The financial burden of staying by her side in ICU and the unforeseen future have been difficult and at this point I have exhausted the emergency funds I did have... which were minimal at best anyways. From food, to lodging and gas for the occasional trip to see my boys get clean clothes and leave again I am not sure how I will be able to continue. Prayers and Any amount you can donate will help and is appreciated more than you can imagine. Even if you are unable to donate please share and help get this out to those who maybe can.
