Help Justin Beat Cancer

Cancer. No one ever wants to hear that word but sometimes life hits you in ways that you can hardly comprehend. On Saturday, November 17, 2018 Justin was told he had cancer spread in several different places in his body. The next few days were a whirlwind of tests and anxiously awaiting a full diagnosis. By Tuesday, we celebrated as we found out that the type of cancer was very treatable but unfortunately was Stage IV. Justin has Testicular Germ Cell cancer of the lungs, liver and brain with the largest mass being in the right side of his lungs. It has been just over a week since a simple urgent care visit for what we thought was bronchitis turned into what seems like a never ending nightmare we never thought we'd have to experience. Justin has begun chemotherapy but has had an increasingly harder time breathing. We are now in the ICU and although I wish this was the last thing on my mind, I am worried about funding this journey to health. We are both students and Justin was the one making the bulk of our income as a line cook before this diagnosis. I am in the last 6 months of grad school and the only income I will have is from dog sitting and online tutoring when I have the time to do so. We really need help to ensure that Justin will continue to be able to afford the best care possible during his time of need.
