My Dog Porter's 2nd Surgery

Donation protected
A month ago Porter went through surgery to get a part of his small intestine taken out since there was a 4 inch-black tube, most likely a lamp fixture from the garden, stuck inside. It went well, and he was slowly making a recovery during these past few weeks. However, about a week ago, he stopped eating again. Vets said it might be one of the side effects to post surgery, so we gave it a little more time. Eventually he wouldn't eat anything at all, even human food which he begs for all the time around dinner. We took him into the vet these past few days to get prepped for a second ultrasound. They found gas trapped inside him and sent him back home with medication for us to use on him so we could try to make the gas go down so he could eat again. To our dismay, we were saddened to find out from the phone call today that he had eaten another structure that he could not pass, which is now clogging his intestines, similar to last time. This time it's a piece of cloth, so he may have grabbed a sock when we weren't looking. Surgery will again cost around the same amount, which my mom has decided to go through with. It's our fault we didn't keep these types of things out of his reach while he was recovering, and we are now, literally, paying the price for it.

I'm not asking anyone to do anything this time. You guys helped so much with the first surgery that it would feel kind of scummy for me to ask for your help again. I'm sure many of you may not even believe me. I'm having a hard time believing it myself. What are the odds that our dog would eat 2 things 1 month after the other right after his surgery causing him to go back in? I feel immense Deja Vu from this. I'm simply letting you guys know about the situation so you can take this as you will. I'm sorry Porter, and I hope after this second surgery we can keep a better eye on you and monitor you more closely so this doesn't ever happen again. You're a dumb dog but we love you and we're even dumber for assuming you wouldn't try and do this again after the surgery.

I have changed the max amount to $15,000. Again, please do not feel like you need to donate, this is just to keep track of and to keep the campaign up indefinitely in case anyone out there does decide to donate. I'm not expecting to hit this, but know I appreciate every single one of you who spread this and donated the first time this happened. I just can't believe it's happening again. Have a good day everyone, and as usual, pray for Porter's 2nd surgery and recovery. (Again)
