Kris Carrier, 21 year old Music Education major, has been diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia and is undergoing chemotherapy at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, Florida. After 4 rounds of chemo, he will also need a bone marrow transplant. He currently serves as a percussion instructor at Sarasota High School, Booker High School and Braden River High School, and is also a staff member for Royalty Independent Percussion.
Kris is son of Kendall Carrier, Band Director at Braden River High School in Bradenton, Florida. Kris' older brother, Zac, passed away in August of 2014 after a lifelong battle with Cystic Fibrosis. This family has already been through the unimaginable, HOWEVER, Kris is in great spirits and everyone is very positive about his treatment and his future. We trust that Kris will soon be on his way to remission and full recovery, and working toward his goal of becoming a band director.
Please consider supporting the Carriers during this time of need. Donations will go toward the out-of-pocket medical and care expenses over the next three years of this process. In the event that more than ample funds are raised, remaining donations will be used to help Kris with education expenses when he is able to return to school. This is his second semester of having to withdraw from college for family/medical reasons.
