Help Save Our Amazing Mum

On 27th August 2015 my mum got diagnosed with secondary breast cancer which has now spread to her spine and pelvis, which they classed as stage 4, terminal. This is something we just never expected from a clinical research trial for women under 50 who randomly got picked in our area for a mammogram especially our 48 year old healthy mum of 2. Me 23 And my brother 20. My mum straight away had two operations to remove two lumps out of her breast and all her lymphnodes out of her arm where the cancer had spread to and began hormone treatment. My stepdad & Mum began to research chemotherapy/radiotherapy and the effects. Our stepdad researched herbal remedies and special diets carb free/sugar free diets which he prepares everyday for her. While she was having the hormone therapy, numerous CT scans, MRI, Bone Scan and Bone biopsy were carried out, which shown it was spreading. Five months later she has another operation where cement was injected into two fractures into the spine and then 3 lots of radiotherapy to stabilise and reduce the pain. Six months after the hormone treatment the doctor explained this treatment was not working and the cancer was aggressively spreading and went on to explain she has 6 cancerous tumours in the spine and tumours on both sides of her pelvis. We just couldn't belive how it had rapidly spread over such a small amount of time. It was so hard for us to pick are self's up and be positive after all the bad news. The doctors went on to try chemotherapy tablets, Three lots of radiotherapy to help manage the tumours and pain, which unfortunately didn't stop it from spreading. 21st October 2016 we went to the hospital where the doctor explained they were going to try my mum with 8 cycles of IV chemotherapy and if this didn't work the worse case my mum would be given six months to live. We was all so upset our family all my mums friends were devastated. My mum has been so bright and positive, throughout her treatment she raised Five thousand pounds for Just Provent Breast Cancer and £400 to St Anns Hospice with support of all her friends, family and always kept her spirits high. Today 12th January 2017 we got the results we that the IV chemotherapy isn't responding at all and the tumours have gone even bigger since the last time they did a scan. The doctors have stated they will not be giving her any more chemotherapy, but have gave a option of another hormone tablet which they have already said is unlikely to work. She is so strong and positive and appart from the pain she looks so healthy and we all don't want to accept the fact she may pass away before her time and see us, her children build a life and be able to spend the rest of her life with her husband. My mum and stepdad have done so much research and found a clinic in Germany which give a better chance of surviving, with treatment called Immunotherapy. I am setting this go fund me page as my beautiful mum is always caring for others and giving her all to chairtys/ friends/family making sure everyone is happy, this might be able to save her life and ino she would never be able to thankyou all enough for that. Thank you for reading our story. If you could donate any amount it would be appreciated so much and I could never thank you all enough !! Love Melissa xxxxx
