I am a retired attorney from another state but it sounds like you are being railroaded to me. Consult an attorney there. Many of them will give you a free first consultation. The construction company's insurance may pay for this damage. If not, you may have a case against the construction company. Many times all it takes is a letter from an attorney to the involved parties to get some results. They often think they can push you around if you are young and unrepresented by counsel. It is at least worth a conversation with a competent attorney.
