Winston Corcuera's Medical Fund

Ron & Terrie Corcuera, along with the help of our many friends and family are trying to raise money for the ongoing medical expenses for Ron's younger brother, Winston Corcuera.

Winston achieved his lifelong goal of helping others when he received his degree in Nursing from the University of Guam after several years of study and personal sacrifice.

Shortly after receiving his BSN and beginning his career in healthcare, he was diagnosed with a debilitating systemic disease called Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), more commonly referred to as Lou Gehrig's disease.

His physical condition continued to deteriorate to the point that he needed his own nursing care.  He made the decision to relocate to the Philippines to be near friends & family that could assist him.

 Winston recently underwent a tracheostomy and is subsequently now on a mechanical ventilator so that he can breathe.  Unlike the health insurance plans we are accustomed to in the United States; there is no health insurance in the Philippines.  Hospitalized patients have to pay for services as they are being rendered.  For individuals such as Winston, that find themselves requiring intensive, round the clock medical care, the costs are never ending and exorbitantly expensive.

We are at a point that we reluctantly feel the need to reach out to our dear friends & family for financial assistance.  It is our goal to raise enough money to relocate Winston back to the states where he qualifies for medical insurance.

We are eternally grateful for any financial contributions you may be able to make on Winston's behalf.  And we would greatly appreciate it if you'd share our plea with anyone you know that might be willing to help a great guy that dedicated his life to helping others.
