David A Boody's ALS Water Challenge

Donation protected
IS 228 David A. Boody Junior High School is having an Ice Bucket Challenge! This fundraiser is student driven, led by our fantastic students in a group known as STOMP (student teacher outreach mentor program). We are raising awareness for ALS, or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, which is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. Approximately 6,400 people in the U.S. are diagnosed with ALS each year. The incidence of ALS is two per 100,000 people, and it is estimated that more than 20,000 Americans may be living with ALS at any given time.
STOMP is asking for the support of our school and community to raise awareness for ALS by having school staff members volunteer to participate in an ice bucket challenge this June. All money raised through the ice bucket challenge will be donated to the ALS association.

We are very excited and hope the ice cube challenge will be a success! Suggested donation for the ice cube challenge is 1$ per ice cube! Let's see who collects the most ice cubes at this years Ice Bucket Challenge !
