Breaking the Cycle

I wish I could start this write up with once upon a time, but this story is very true, and it’s not just mine... To the people of the world, near and far, I invite you to be a part of my journey. It’s called “The Life After”, I’ve started a new chapter, but I need help writing this story. When you’re young and alone, trying to start a new home, It’s easy to believe what isn’t true. No love or support, I was left on my own, Taking care of our child of just two. Around Christmas 2018 is when it all came to light. I packed what I could then she left on a flight. Sent with her Grandmother, so she didn't see me in this state. I cried and barely slept for 10 days straight. I didn’t know it was abuse, but I was made a recluse, I thought he was the one man I could trust. He spent most of our savings, along with everything I gave him, Yet that still wasn't enough. “His name is Andrew, he is just shy”, the year went by, I was forced to believe this was the case. Night after night he would go, just pictures he would show, Of a man I knew only from his face. I always had my suspicions, but when I put him in a position, To explain why he would always go away. He would reply with aggression, said there was no discretion, And that I am completely insane. Three months have passed, he’s taken the car, And most everything else that we owned. He's taken our dogs, left us in a fog, And moved on into a new home. I can’t turn to him for help, he’s only in it for himself, I’m starting from scratch on my own. So I’m reaching out to you, hoping you all will come through, To help us with a car, bond and filling our home. Your money will be put to good use, I’m not one for abuse, I won’t be on the market for the best. When daughter grows up, she’ll see I didn’t give up, And the world helped us get ahead.
