Mike Simpson Needs Your Help!

Hi Everyone!  I’m in Milwaukee for the weekend on a mini vacation and last night something really cool happened. We were out late and I had come back to my hotel around 2am. Around 3am I stepped out front and have a smoke and this older gentleman in his mid 40s came walking by. Well per my usual self I start talking his ear off and come to find out he was a Cuban immigrant just getting to the United States. His name is Mike Simpson.  He had all of his paperwork which he showed me without me asking and is currently entering the country LEGALLY! He’s extremely motivated to find a job and is in now way shape or form looking for handouts.  I asked him where he was going and he was going to sleep in the hospital lobby until the morning because he hasn’t been able to find a job being here less that 48 hours. The night prior he slept under a bridge on an abandoned mattress... in Milwaukee - ITS FREEZING!  He never asked me for anything other than if it would be ok if he could take the half eaten container of cookies sitting on top of a trash can in the hotel lobby - which I said no way and bought him some food from the hotel convenience store. This man was not a criminal or drug addict... he was simply a man trying to better his life. Well call me crazy but I was up until 6am talking to people coming and going from the hotel explaining the situation and they also helped him with a little bit of money (which he gave back to me this morning and I forced him to take). I had the hotel bring pillows and blankets and let him sleep on my hotel room floor. He’s gone now this morning but he left me this necklace and ring - both engraved with the Lord’s Prayer. He says he doesn’t believe in god but is a spiritual man and he likes the message... which I can appreciate. So now it brings everything to now. I have his email and I’m trying to figure out how to help this guy get on his feet. If anyone has any ideas or labor work they need assistance with this guy really is a good person.  I’m currently looking for donations that I would be able to give to him before I head back to Madison tomorrow.  He’s not asking for this and doesn’t even know I’m doing this -  but if we can all chip in $5 or $10 we can get him out of the cold until he’s on his feet and show him what Wisconsin and America is all about!  Thanks everyone!
