On April 3, 2016, the homeschooling community west of Montreal will be opening an amazing co-op centre on the grounds of a local farm. We have been brainstorming and experimenting with this idea for years now, and it is so exciting to see it come to fruition.
Those of you who will participate in the co-op, either as teachers, members or drop-in participants—your presence and participation is the greatest way possible to contribute to this project!
For family and friends and other do-gooders, near and far, who believe in the power of community, this GoFundMe page is a way to contribute to our project financially. Our rent will be covered by monthly membership dues, but our teachers are volunteering their time and talents, and all supplies will be collected by donation. And we need help with that initial push!
We've come a long way in getting this great community centre up and running. I say community centre and not only homescool co-op because our activities and reach will target preschool age children, homeschoolers of all ages and school children on their days off.
All donations are truly appreciated. What will your donation be used for? A bookshelf or armoire to store our items, books for our lending library, craft supplies, bringing in a local expert to teach a specific activity or class, special projects (like hatching chicks!), efforts to advertise our centre to the community at large and attract new members, and other costs involved in running the co-op centre.
We are very much looking forward to opening a centre where children will congregate, share a love of learning new things, enjoy everything the beautiful site of the farm has to offer, and inspire and grow their sense of community. Thank you so much for helping us to move this project forward in any way you can.
P.S. The top 10 donors will get a chicken named in their honour! It's not every day you get that opportunity. ;)
