Hospital Repairs and Ambulance fund

Donation protected
Hi my name is Alex; I am a Registered Nurse in California with a love for medicine and hope to make a difference. I have gained a strong interest in addressing global health issues. In the summer of 2015 I traveled across the world with sponsorship from the stethoscope manufacturer MDF Instruments to the West Bank of Palestine. During my time there I worked several shifts at the Khalil Suleiman Hospital in Jenin, West Bank of Palestine and with the Nuran Charitable Organization. The Khalil Suleiman Hospital is the only source of medical care for Palestinians living in Jenin, West Bank of Palestine as well as the surrounding communities. The Nuran Charitable Organization is a volunteer based ambulance service providing Emergency Medical care and transport to Palestinian neighborhoods in East Jerusalem, Isreal, where service by Isreali Ambulance Services is unavailable.

How the Funds Will be Used:

The funds will be split equally between the Khalil Suleiman Hospital and the Nuran Charitable Organization.

The money that is donated to the Khalil Suleiman Hospital will be used for repairs and updates to the facilities of the hospital. The first area of the hospital that will be repaired are the lower level bathrooms which are currently unfit for hospital level sanitation. Other areas of the hospital in need of significant repair include the resident dorm rooms, the emergency department and the intensive care unit.

The Nuran Charitable Organization will be using the donated funds to fundraise for a new ambulance. According to Isreali law which governs the care that Nuran Provides dictates that ambulances must be retired at seven years of service. Both ambulances currently in use by Nuran are approaching six years of service and will need to be replaced shortly. The cost of a new ambulance can climb to over $100,000.

My goal is to help raise money for both of these organizations in order to allow them to continue operating and providing care. I see emergency health care as a fundamental right everyone deserves, which has been a grounding reason for my efforts. Through contributing to these organizations, your donations can help make these changes possible.
