KDSAP

KDSAP provides the opportunity for student members to participate in outreach in underserved communities and to increase awareness for kidney-related diseases. KDSAP offers speaker series and programs to expose students to the scientific and medical professions while developing relationships with established physician mentors. This organization further targets undergraduate students to pursue in depth education in the lacking nephrology workforce by raising awareness about the prevalence of chronic kidney disease and other renal diseases through community-based education and advocating preventative medicine measures. Through hands-on monthly screenings in underserved communities known as Community Kidney Disease Detection (CKDD), students gain leadership and management skills while providing healthcare to those in need. Our goal is to combine science, medicine, and other skills to improve health and lifestyle of minority communities.
