Fundraising for Gap Year

My name is Annecy Peters and I'm a 17 year old, full time college student. When I finish A Levels I plan to take a gap year around the world, volunteering in as many different countries as I can. The star event of this gap year is a 9 month volunteering programme, The PMGY Ultimate Round The World Encounter.

This, however, comes at a cost. Though PMGY supplies food and accommodation on (almost) all counts, the flights, visas, travel insurance, and transfers are not covered in the programme fee.

I have previously volunteered in a summer camp in Romania for 9 weeks, helping improve children's English, and have plans to return next year for the full term (10 weeks). This experience truly gave me a taste for volunteering, travelling, and being fully immersed in different cultures. It also made me realise that actively participating is much more fulfilling that simply donating. I have always disagreed with donating money to big "charities", as you never really know how much of your money is going where. Through Romania, I discovered that being able to actively see your impact is much more gratifying, and this is what my whole gap year is about. 

The PMGY programme enables me to exact both travel and volunteer work simultaneously, giving the best of both worlds in a good time period. It is the perfect opportunity.

This fund is only part of the full price, so any donations of any quantity will go a long way. Along with this, I will also be working as much as possible in order to attain a seemingly impossible £10,000 estimate. Thank you!
