Ride to Recovery- A Meter Matters

After a horrific accident in July of 2013 that has resulted in countless surgeries, ongoing rehabilitation and the tough battle to regain my independence, I have decided 2016 is the year for me to close this chapter of my life. I am ready to regain my new sense of self, disabilities and all, opening up a new chapter of my life.
With the help of my family, friends and health care workers I am going to embark on a journey of a lifetime that endeavours to not only mentally strengthen myself but also raise money for Royal Melbourne Hospital without whom I may not be here today.
In January of 2016 I will be riding from Melbourne to Adelaide to raise much needed awareness for the ‘A Meter Does Matter’ campaign ran by the Amy Gillett Foundation. I ask from you all to read my story with weekly updates telling my story from the very beginning up until the ride, with weekly gratitude posts to show my appreciation for the hundreds of people who have supported me through my road to recovery. Whilst reading my story I hope everyone can reflect on the importance of sharing the roads with cars and cyclists together.
Please donate generously and help me give back to those that I have to thank for saving my life. Without them I would be just another statistic of the road toll instead I am here for a reason and maybe that reason is to advocate for change. Change for road safety, change for cyclist and motor vehicle relationships and change in the number of incidents occurring on our roads to cyclists.
