I just want to thank the radio station, and especially Zeke's family, for letting us hear him one more time all this week. This happened so fast that we as his radio family, didn't have the opportunity to have one more time with him - and you made it so we could. Listening to you both since you came to Memphis made us part of your family - the big brother we never had, so to speak. He was special to us too. RIP Zeke. Hope to meet you again in the ether space.
This blog sucks, Zeke would never post here.
One day its a beer and complaints. Next day its planning my vavation in paeis.
Zeke was a wonderful kind man, but one of many funniest moments was dressing him up like Ann Wilson for Halloween you should have seen him driving down the street hysterical!! When the WEstern Steakhouse was open on Madison Shannon and him and I went and sat in Elvis booth, I made him talk like Elvis throughout the whole meal, wonderful memories
Thanks for the memories dude. You made my life a little easier to deal with everyday listening to you and Drake and I'll never forget that. We have lost a great radio personality and an even smarter and quick witted man. R.I P .
I started listening to the show about 8 yrs ago.loved the dumbasses of the day.going to workin the morning will never be the same.god bless zeke, his family and radio family
Mornings will never be the same... i grew up with Drake and Zeke and looked forward to getting their view of the memphis and nationwide stories from the day before. I knew i could always get a laugh and actaully learn something. Dumb-Ass of the day was a highlight of my morining and made me feel just a little better about my day! I loved the honesty of the show and no matter what they never held back their views!!! Zeke will never be forgotten and will always be remembered. Prayers being sent to his family and his 98.1 family. I have to say heavens morning show will never be the same either ... Baddog and Zeke in the mornings for eternity.
Many morning I listened to Drake and Zeke either driving to work, my sons to school, the doctor, wherever I may have been going to always tuned in at some point for many, many years. All the way back when they started on ROCK103. These guys made me smile when times were bad, sad or just any ole regular day. I still listen to the show and 98.1 is my mainstay station. When I sat in the car this afternoon and started it up and heard his son make the announcement my heart just broke into and I cried. I feel for his family because I too have been in their very similar situation. Thanks for so many laughs and smiles, memories, and your legacy, Zeke Logan, I know will always continue to live on here in the far reaching community of the Mid-South. God Speed on your journey home and God Bless his friends and family.
I'd very much like to finish the Volvo he was restoring. At my cost. Zach email me. RIP my great travel planning partner.
I remember years ago I was a temp for the front desk at Rock 103.. I met all of the crew.. I was up front I was there for 9-11 ...it was really a super hard time... we all had tears ..
Just last month we were drinking Tequila together, I will miss him! Los Cantadores
I have listened to them since 2000 back when they were on in the afternoons on 103. I will miss him so much. He can not be replaced. I was just hoping today we would get to continue to hear his voice somehow someway, then I thought about what his family must feel if I feel that way. I missed out on 12 years of them due to the Army, but as soon as I came back home, I started listening again. If anyone reads this, I hope they replay the broadcast from the day they aired the Kasey Kassem outtakes. This was late last year. They had me rolling. I hope they do a best of every now and then just so we can hear him and remember the happy and awesome times we all shared together. I was a very loyal fan and customer of the show and all of their sponsors. Rock on Zeke. Love you like a brother!
I had the pleasure of working with Zeke in Little Rock before his brief stint in Portland. He always had a smile on his face and would say something to make you laugh. Take care old friend.
I have listened to Drake & Zeke way back in the '80s Rock103 and now at 98.1.. Many of mornings have been made better from all the laughter and comments.. As with Bad Dog, Zeke was one of the COOL guys that made soo many people happy. The countless numbers of people that he touched and listen to him will never be known but I am one of them and he was apart of my life for YEARS.. To his family thank you for allowing him to do what he did the sacrifices that were made that allowed him to be on the air all those YEARS... Thank you and GODS SPEED...
I have enjoyed listening to Drake and Zeke for the entirety of the radio show. However, my most lasting memory of Zeke was at Houston High School football games when he would come over and chat with the "band nerds". That mean't more to those kids than he ever knew and spoke volumes of the kind of man he was. RIP Zeke and thoughts and prayers to all family and friends.
I cried when I heard he was sick, then cried when I heard if his passing today. He has been part of my life, along with Drake, since the '80's. His legacy will continue and we will never forget him. Rock on, Zeke
my mornings will never be the same. many prayers to the entire Millar family.
I always started my work day with drake an zeke will keep his family an 98.1 family in my thoughts an prayers! God bless gone but never forgotten
In my mind, Zeke epitomized the word "cool." He was the kind of guy so gifted in personality that he was a trend setter. Zeke had a way of coining a phrase that ended up being passed around for ages. I had the good fortune of working at WEGR Rock 103 in the late eighties, which is where I came to know him. He was a natural born star: larger than life, effortlessly charismatic, and completely humble and unselfconscious as to the impact he made on people with his God-given voice and swaggering, big bear presence. Yes, he was something...
